Are you in need of a speaker for an event? Below is a list of  multi-media presentations. I specialize in the American Revolution and teaching history through fashion. In addition to the presentations, I also lead travel tours of the 10 Crucial Days sites in Mercer County, New Jersey. For further information on all of my historical presentations, please visit my Historical Resources website.

The Ten Crucial Days:  An exciting, catch your breath, presentation about the 10 days that turned the American Revolution around. This tale of woe and triumph begins in November of 1776, when the Americans lose New York to the British. It includes the gut wrenching story of the fleeing across New Jersey, the British in hot pursuit, the despair of the people, Washington’s frustration and the quiet desperation of the rank and file soldiers. And then it all turned around on Christmas night, 1776. What a story this is! And so many Americans have forgotten it because we don’t tell it often enough. Multi-media presentation, 30 minutes minimum.

Save the American Revolution: Those of us in the movement to preserve our AR battle sites refer to this as the second war, the war to keep our hallowed grounds intact. While much has been saved, more needs to be. And what has been saved can end up neglected due to a lack of funds.  These sites, which I refer to as our tangible history, need the people to put their own hands on them to care for these sites. This presentation addresses what sites are in trouble, what sort of challenges they face and what can be done to insure that they are preserved for future generations of Americans. With visuals. 15 to 25 minute presentation.

The Founders Wore Stockings: This glorious romp through the 18th century in America is a part of my Dressing for the Ages series of lectures on the history of Western Civilization. This chapter covers the differences between Americans and Europeans as illustrated by their clothing. It covers the economics of the colonies and that aspect as it pertains to reasons for independence from Britain. It also address the differences between the two, earth shaking revolutions of that century, the American and the French. 30 minutes of luscious visuals, grand music and stimulating ideas.

The Dressing for the Ages Project. My confession is that I love clothes. Always have, always will. If you should call me during the TV show, Project Runway, you might get your head bitten off! In truth, I never met a costume I didn't like, even those weird, wide, wacky panniers of 17th century Spain and 18th century France.  The DFTA project consists of live and video events. The first video was an interview with Esther Mills in Princeton, New Jersey. The second video is titled, What Year is This, and it is a wedding product for couple desirous of an historical theme wedding. It's release date keeps getting set back as I am having too much fun with it, meaning it is gotten even more fabulous. I do promise it will be out before the year is out.

As for the live events of DFTA, that is open for bookings in March, 2009. See my Historical Resources website for more information. http://www.historicalresources.com
